In concrete pumping equipment, the distribution valve, as a core component, directly affects construction efficiency and equipment service life. S-valve and skirt valve are two mainstream distribution valves, but S-valve has gradually become the first choice for medium and large-scale projects due to its structural design and performance advantages.
In terms of sealing performance, the S-valve adopts a rotary sealing structure, which automatically compensates for wear through a rubber spring, maintaining good sealing performance for a long time and effectively reducing the risk of concrete leakage. In contrast, the skirt valve relies on the tight fit between the rubber skirt and the cutting ring for sealing. The skirt is prone to deformation after being impacted by materials, requiring frequent replacement of seals.
Regarding adaptability, the S-valve has a wider range of adaptability to concrete aggregate size and slump. It can efficiently pump concrete with coarse aggregates such as crushed stone and pebbles, especially suitable for high-strength and high-grade concrete construction. The skirt valve, however, is more suitable for fine aggregates and low-slump materials, and is prone to pipe blockage under complex working conditions.
In terms of maintenance cost, the key wearing parts of the S-valve (such as wear plates and cutting rings) are easy to replace, and their service life can reach 1.5-2 times that of the skirt valve. Due to the fast wear of seals, the skirt valve not only needs to be replaced frequently but also requires disassembly of more components, increasing downtime for maintenance and labor costs.
In terms of pumping efficiency, the flow channel design of the S-valve is more in line with fluid mechanics principles, resulting in low material passing resistance. Its rated displacement is 5%-10% higher than that of skirt valves of the same specification, meeting the needs of continuous pumping in large-scale projects.
In summary, the comprehensive advantages of the S-valve in sealing reliability, working condition adaptability, economy, and efficiency make it the mainstream choice for modern concrete pump trucks, especially suitable for high-intensity and high-demand construction scenarios.
